Patagonman season: we run the logistics, you get the rest of Patagonia
Every year the same scene plays out in Coyhaique around this time: backpacks everywhere, bikes strapped to truck roofs, and a group of athletes arriving from far away to compete across some of Patagonia's most demanding landscapes. It's Patagonman season, and once again this year, we're the ones handling the race logistics.
We've spent years working hand in hand with the organization to make race day run smoothly: hauling equipment, providing logistical support along the route, coordinating on the ground. We know the course almost as well as we know our own expeditions — it's the same landscape we explore with our travelers the rest of the year.
Which brings us to the point of this post: if you're coming to race the Patagonman — or coming along to support someone who is — this is also your chance to really get to know Aysén and Southern Patagonia, not just pass through it.
For those racing: we know the race demands your full focus, but before the clock starts or right after you cross the finish line, this region has a lot more to show you. A couple of days unwinding at the Marble Caves, an easy hike around Cerro Castillo, or simply drifting along Lago General Carrera — that's the other side of Patagonia, the one you don't race, you enjoy.
And for the support crews: while you're waiting at the finish line or tracking progress from your phone, we'll put together your own plan. Horseback riding, rafting, fishing, or trekking. Full-day expeditions, or camping under dream-like landscapes. Short outings or longer ones, catamaran tours, by car or by bike. You imagine it, we make it happen.
