¿Where to sleep Coyhaique?
We're often asked what the best option is for a place to sleep once you land in Balmaceda, and the answer is Coyhaique. Although it's not the airport city, Coyhaique is a 50-minute transfer away and offers all the perks of a full-fledged city to kick off your trip through Patagonia.
Pharmacies, clothing stores, supermarkets, restaurants, banks, and every other service run daily. But keep in mind that, like in any provincial town, the siesta is non-negotiable, and most businesses close during lunch hours.
With that in mind, let's get to the point: where to sleep? At Turismo Baguales, we always start by recommending our beloved Casa Balmaceda. A family home turned into a hostel that offers spacious, comfortable shared spaces.
The kitchen, which you can use at any hour, is equipped with the basics you need to cook, plus a dining area to enjoy your meals.

The house is located in Coyhaique's central residential neighborhood, so everything can be reached on foot from there.

It's a pet-friendly hostel — Demóstenes, the resident cat receptionist, will be waiting to help you with self-check-in.
